1,774 Isuzu, Chevy, and GMC Trucks Recalled Over Fire Hazard

Posted on July 1, 2013

Isuzu N-Series and FFR trucks and Chevy and GMC WT5500 and W-Series trucks of various model years ranging from 2001 through 2013 are being recalled by Isuzu.  Each of the 1,774 or so affected vehicles will have an oil pan heater that can accumulate debris in the area where the extension cord meets the heater plug.  This can lead to an overheating situation that leads to blockage or melting of the plug, circumstances that could even prompt a fire if left unchecked.  At some point next month, owners will hear from Isuzu.  They’ll then be able to bring their trucks in for a free inspection, and if necessary, component replacement service.
