Trophy and Trophy SE Motorcycles Recalled Due to Fire and Crash Risks

Posted on June 7, 2013

Slightly more than 500 Trophy SE and Trophy motorcycles of the 2012 and 2013 model years are being recalled by Triumph Motorcycles.  The fuel tank on these vehicles has two layers that may not adhere properly, a condition that has the potential to allow fuel to emanate from the tank.  This poses two hazards:  the motorcycles could unexpectedly stall in the midst of traffic, posing a crash risk, and a fire could break out if an ignition source is in the vicinity of the leaking fuel.  Owners should be on the lookout for a notice from Triumph, as the recall is set to begin at some point this month.  Motorcyclists will be able to obtain a new fuel tank from dealers.
