A company called CLOSCA Helmets has taken to Kickstarter in a bid to secure funding for a collapsible bicycle helmet. After wondering why so many people seemingly opted not to wear bike helmets when they take to the roads, the company came to the conclusion that things might be better if storage was easier. To that end, the CLOSCA helmet, once the user is through using it, can be collapsed into a piece of equipment half the size. The thought is that this smaller form of the helmet can be placed in a backpack and out of the way. The makers of the helmet claim that it has already passed a series of safety tests and that its EPP polymer makeup allows it to absorb much of the brunt of an impact.
