Cedar Lake Heaters/Cookers Recalled By Texsport Over Fire Risk

Posted on June 14, 2013

The Houston, Texas-based Texsport has announced the recall of 325 propane heaters/cookers under the Cedar Lake brand.  The affected products were sold around the country and online between May of last year and this past February.  When a person flicks the switch that enables the unit to move between heater and cooker modes, a malfunction of the regulator is possible.  This can cause the liquefaction of the propane, an issue that can lead to flaring and an ensuing fire.  One instance of such has come to the fore at this time, although that thankfully did not cause an injury.  Owners should cease usage as soon as possible and get in touch with Texsport for recall instructions.
