2,694 K2, K3, and MM Motorhome Chassis Recalled Over Crash Risk

Posted on May 14, 2013

K2, K3, and MM motorhome chassis of the 2006 through 2011 model years have been recalled by Spartan Motors Chassis because of an issue with the steering gear mounting brackets.  On 2,694 vehicles, said component can experience cracking and eventual detachment.  This can eliminate the driver’s ability to properly steer the motorhome, and thus the threat of a crash becomes more apparent.  The recall was set to begin today, so owners should hear from Spartan soon if they haven’t already.  Owners can seek out a free inspection from Spartan, but they won’t be able to obtain actual repairs until the middle of June, when the required remedy becomes available.
