Texas Launches Anti-Texting and Driving Campaign

Posted on April 10, 2013

Lawmakers in the state of Texas are pondering whether or not the time is nigh to pass a ban on texting while driving, but in the meantime, the state’s Department of Transportation has rolled out a new awareness campaign as part of National Distracted Driving Awareness Month.  Called “Talk. Text. Crash,” the campaign will feature a series of billboard ads, television ads, and internet messages.  AT & T, who already attempts to explain the dangers of distracted driving through their It Can Wait campaign, has teamed with the DOT for the effort.  The campaign comes on the heels of the Transportation Institute of Texas A & M conducting a study that detailed how around half of all Texans used their cellphones at the wheel last year.
