Multiple Pet Foods Recalled by Natura Over Salmonella Risk

Posted on April 1, 2013

Various pet foods under the EVO, Innova, Health Wise, Karma, and California Natural brands have been recalled by Natura Pet Products because of the possibility that the items could suffer from a Salmonella contamination.  This issue, which could negatively impact both pets and their owners, was revealed through testing by the Departments of Agriculture of Georgia and Michigan.  The recall pertains to numerous sizes and product types that have an expiration date between December 14 of this year and March 24 of next year, although three ounce Cat Turkey and Chicken Treats under the Innova brand could also have an expiration date between July 1 and September 27, 2013.  The items should be thrown out, and owners should take pains not to touch the food product.
