Spare Tire Failure Risk Prompts Nissan to Recall 123,308 Altimas

Posted on April 29, 2013

Altima vehicles of the 2013 model year have been recalled by Nissan because of a potential issue with the spare tires that came with the automobiles.  A whopping 123,308 vehicles are potentially impacted by the recall, which was initiated once it was discovered that improper inflation could have occurred in said spare tires.  If this tire is placed on the vehicle while it’s severely overinflated or underinflated, a failure becomes a possibility, and the driver would thus find themselves in a potential crash situation.  The recall should start this Friday, at which point owners should begin hearing from Nissan about the issue.  Bringing the vehicle in to a dealer will enable a technician to inspect the affected tire and alter the pressure accordingly at no cost to the consumer.
