532 ACX Vehicles Recalled By Autocar Due to Overheating Risk

Posted on April 19, 2013

532 ACX vehicles of the 2011 through 2013 model years have been recalled by Autocar.  The recall affects those vehicles that contain MGM J24 air brake chambers in the disc brakes of the Meritor axle assemblies.  Those chambers could lose pressure over time, resulting in the parking brake being dragged when it’s supposed to be deactivated.  This could lead to an extensive buildup of heat in the brakes, which in turn poses a fire hazard.  Owners should hear from Autocar once the recall starts on June 10.  At that point, the vehicles can be brought in to a dealer for a no-cost replacement of the actuators.
