19,258 Infiniti JX and Pathfinder Vehicles Recalled Over Crash Hazard

Posted on April 19, 2013

Infiniti JX and Pathfinder vehicles of the 2013 model year have been recalled by Nissan.  Each of the 19,258 vehicles, which would have been produced between this past December 3 and January 29, may suffer from structural weakness of the front brake torque member because of inadequate casting.  This weakness can prompt cracking and outright failure, which can in turn lead to movement in the brake caliper that causes that component to touch the wheel.  This potentially impedes braking ability, a condition that might cause a crash.  At some point next month, the recall will begin.  Owners will be able to receive a free inspection and repairs from a dealer.
