Distracted Driving Targeted By Rohnert Park Police

Posted on April 17, 2013

As part of a statewide effort to crack down on distracted driving and educate drivers about the dangers of such, police in Rohnert Park were out in full force yesterday targeting those persons who insisted on texting at the wheel and using a handheld cellphone while driving.  The agency utilized four patrol cars and two motorcycle units whose goal it was to be on the lookout for the dangerous habit and issue tickets to those discovered to run afoul of California’s distracted driving laws.  As with other agencies across California during Distracted Driving Awareness Month, the Rohnert Park PD is advising that drivers put their phones away while driving so that they don’t turn into a mindless zombie at the wheel.
