Rollaway Risk Leads Chrysler to Recall 6,574 Dodge Ram 1500 Vehicles

Posted on April 12, 2013

6,574 Dodge Ram 1500 vehicles of the 2013 model year have been recalled by the Chrysler Group because they could fail to meet the benchmarks set forth by the Federal Motor Vehicle Standard regarding Light Vehicle Brake Systems.  Specifically, the parking brake may be unable to retain complete stoppage when the vehicle is placed on a grade of 20% due to improper setting of the component’s cable equalizer.  Thus, when a person parks the vehicle, it could suddenly roll away, endangering persons and other vehicles in the vicinity.  The recall is actually set to start today, so owners should hear from Chrysler soon.  They can then bring the vehicles to a dealer to obtain the necessary free repairs.
