Crash Risk Leads to Recall of 20,532 Jeep Compass and Patriot Vehicles

Posted on April 10, 2013

Jeep Compass and Patriot vehicles of the 2012 model year are being recalled by Chrysler Group because of a potential defect that could lead to a stall.  20,532 vehicles might contain a transfer tube that wasn’t produced properly, and as a result, fuel may not be shuffled adequately between the fuel tank’s secondary and primary sides.  This leads to the aforementioned stall, which poses a potential crash hazard if it occurs while the vehicle is in transit.  Owners should hear from Chrysler once the recall starts next month.  They’ll then be able to bring the vehicles in to a dealer to obtain a replacement component at no cost.
