A company whose products were available in multiple states has been shut down by the Food and Drug Administration over purported violations that could compromise the safety of consumers. The Houston, Texas-based Chung’s Products was the target of the injunction, which was issued after inspectors reportedly uncovered circumstances that could lead to foodborne illness. The agency is particularly concerned about the potential presence of listeriosis and botulism. Until the company comes into compliance with sanitary practices, they will not be able to produce food. Chung’s makes such items as frozen pot stickers and spring rolls. The FDA’s investigation goes back eight years, when initial reports of uncleanliness began to come out.
