City of Industry Cracking Down on Distracted Driving on April 24
The California Office of Traffic Safety has made funds available to police agencies across the state so that they can crack down on texting and cellphone usage as part of National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. In the city of Industry, officers will be ratcheting up their efforts on Wednesday, April 24. The Captain of the local Sheriff’s department explained that the increased patrol efforts would be used as a platform to educate drivers about the dangers of distracted driving. Offenders can expect to pay a $159 ticket if it’s their first time getting caught, but that number jumps by $120 for subsequent violations.
