CHP Enforcement Effort Targets More Than Just Cellphone Driving

Posted on April 4, 2013

A new report explains that talking on a cellphone and texting at the wheel aren’t the only distracting activities that could draw the ire of the California Highway Patrol and other police entities as part of their crackdown operation running through the end of April as part of National Distracted Driving Awareness Month.  A member of the CHP explains that officers will also be on the lookout for instances where the driver uses their MP3 player or GPS device to the detriment of safe driving.  Drivers are being told not to look down at their phones or take their minds off the road at any time.  As the campaign’s tagline says, “It’s Not Worth It.”
