E. Coli Outbreak Prompts Rich Products to Recall Multiple Items

Posted on April 1, 2013

An investigation into a reported outbreak of E. coli has led to a multi-product recall by the Buffalo, New York-based Rich Products Corporation.  The recall pertains to Mozzarella Bites, Mini Pizza Slices, Mini Quesadillas, and Philly Cheese Steaks of the Farm Rich brand and Mozzarella Bites of the Market Day brand.  Rich Products and the Food and Drug Administration are looking into what led to the contamination.  Available across the country after being manufactured from November 12 through November 19 of last year, the items should be discarded at once.  Persons who suffer from an E. coli-based illness are in danger of suffering cramps, diarrhea, and other side effects.  In some serious instances, affected parties could be privy to kidney failure if they incur Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome.
