Aerial Device Utility Trucks Recalled By Terex Over Injury Threat

Posted on March 27, 2013

RM, XM, OM-DHL, and TC Aerial Device utility trucks of the 2000 through 2009 model years have been recalled by Terex South Dakota because of an injury risk posed.  On an estimated 240 of these vehicles, each of which will have boom controls found in the truck bed’s console, a failure may occur in a certain hydraulic rotary manifold seal.  When this happens, the boom could suddenly experience movement, potentially putting somebody standing aboard the Aerial Device in an injurious situation.  Owners should hear from Terex about the issue once the recall starts next month.  They’ll be able to bring the vehicles in to a dealer to receive a new solenoid and hydraulic plumbing reconfiguration at no cost.
