Proponents of Oklahoma Texting Ban Are Loathe to Give Up the Fight

A ban on texting while driving in the state of Oklahoma has been tabled by the state’s House, but proponents of the measure aren’t giving up just yet.  One of the cofounders of the Distraction Advocate Network came to the State Capitol yesterday to try to convince lawmakers to take up the matter, which had previously received the approval of the House Transportation Committee.  The sponsor of the proposed bill hopes that the DAN representative’s efforts bear fruit, as he believes that a ban on texting at the wheel shouldn’t even brook an argument.  He explains that texting is far more dangerous that even driving while intoxicated can be, yet he admits that logic is often in short supply in Oklahoma City.
