Oklahoma lawmakers are in the process of considering whether or not the time is ripe for the state to outlaw texting while at the wheel. And as they mull that important decision, supporters took the time yesterday to come to the state capitol in Oklahoma City to explain why such a law was essential at this time. AAA was on hand, as were various medical professionals who spoke to the need for a texting ban. Certain lawmakers voiced support for the ban, but it was those directly affected by distracted driving whose testimony may have had the largest impact. One mother talked about how her teenage daughter had her life cut tragically short when she was involved in an accident whilst talking on her cellphone.
