AARP Poll Illuminates Views on Elder Care and a Texting Ban

Posted on February 6, 2013

A recent poll conducted by AARP has brought to light how seniors throughout the state of Florida feel about various matters pertaining to safety.  By querying nearly 900 persons older than 50, it was discovered that around 90% of respondents think that nursing home quality standards require better oversight.  The same number of people believe that the state itself must do more to guarantee sufficient longterm care for senior citizens as they age.  The AARP points to the fact that financial growth in this area has become nearly stagnant even as more people require such care.  And a whopping 88% of seniors are very much in favor of a ban on texting at the wheel among drivers.
