Five Pound Bags of Unbleached Flour Recalled By King Arthur

Posted on February 25, 2013

The Norwich, Vermont-based King Arthur Flour has announced the recall of Unbleached All-Purpose and Unbleached Bread Flour in a five pound bag.  Each of the two items may contain polyurethane balls seven to nine millimeters in size.  These balls, which are apparently used during sifting of the product, are blue and about half the size of a dime.  Affected bags will have their Lot Code and Best By date emblazoned upon the side of the bag, and thus any consumer with a bag of flour with this information atop the bag is being told that they are not affected by the recall.  No one has reported an incident at this time.  Any persons who own the flour are being asked to bring it back to the store, where a refund will be given.
