belVita Breakfast Biscuits Recalled by Mondelez Over Mesh Presence

Posted on February 22, 2013

The potential presence of flexible metal mesh has prompted the recall of two different products of varying sizes under the belVita brand.  Mondelez Global issued the recall, which pertains to Apple Cinnamon and Chocolate Breakfast Biscuits.  An ingredient supplier informed the company of the issue, which prompted the recall affecting products with Best When Used By Dates between January 21 and September 29, 2013.  Owners are being advised to refrain from the consumption of these biscuits; instead, the items should be tossed out at once.  Mondelez stated that they have already been the recipient of multiple messages from consumers, but it’s unclear from the announcement what the nature of that contact was.
