Laceration Risk Prompts Recall of 254,600 Homelite Blower Vacuums

Posted on February 21, 2013

The Anderson, South Carolina-based Homelite Consumer Products has announced the recall of electric blower vacuums that were only sold at the Home Depot.  Model numbers UT42120 and UT42120A are affected, and each would have been available across the country between last February and December.  254,600 units throughout America and Canada could suffer from an issue wherein their plastic housing could be punctured by items taken in through the vacuum.  This could lead a user to be lacerated.  One incident has come to the company’s attention, but it did not lead to an injury.  Owners should cease usage until such time they can obtain a free replacement from Homelite.
