Fire Hazard Prompts Prizer Painter to Recall 940 BlueStar Ovens

Posted on February 8, 2013

Two, two and a half, and three foot wide versions of BlueStar gas-powered stainless steel wall ovens are being recalled by the Reading, Pennsylvania-based Prizer Painter Stove Works.  940 ovens are being recalled, and each was produced up until November 23 of last year and sold across the country from January 2008 through November 2012.    At issue is the fact that the flexible gas appliance connectors may have suffered damage or the unit itself may not have received adequate installation.  Either condition could lead to a fire.  One person has already reported a fire that led to property damage.  Owners are being asked not to use the ovens until such time that they can get in touch with BlueStar and set up a free repair service.
