Rollaway Risk Leads to Recall of Chevy Express and GMC Savana Vehicles

Posted on January 18, 2013

General Motors has announced the recall of GMC Savana and Chevy Express vehicles of the 2013 model year.  980 automobiles are encompassed by the recall.  Apparently, while the affected vehicles are running, the key can potentially be taken out of the ignition, even if the vehicle hasn’t been placed in Park.  This brings the vehicle out of compliance with federal standards regarding theft protection.  The issue increases the chance that the automobiles could roll away, crashing into other vehicles or running down any people on foot in the vehicle’s path.  The recall is set to begin next week.  Owners should hear from GM, and free repairs can be obtained from dealers.
