Binghamton, New York Tragedy Prompts Bicycle Safety Tips

A recent bicycle accident in Binghamton, New York that cost the rider his life has prompted law enforcement officials and other experts on bike safety to offer their two cents on how to ensure a safe ride.  It starts with making sure you can be seen, something that becomes particularly important at night.  The clothing you wear should include some sort of reflective material, while the bike itself should be equipped with lights on both the back and the front.  The Sheriff of Broome County stresses the need to always be paying attention to one’s surroundings, whether you’re a cyclist or you’re behind the wheel of an automobile.
