Fuel Leak Threat Prompts KTM to Recall 1,300 Enduro Motorcycles

Posted on January 15, 2013

Enduro motorcycles of the 2012 and 2013 model years have been recalled by the Amherst, Ohio-based KTM North America.  1,300 closed-course and off-road motorcycles in total are affected by the recall, and each was sold by an authorized dealer between October 2011 and this past September.  13 persons have reported experiencing a fuel leak.  This issue apparently stems from the propensity of the fuel hose to experience the formulation of cracks or holes.  If this were to occur, fire could break out, and the rider would also be in danger of crashing their motorcycle.  No-cost repairs are being offered by dealers, and until such time that those repairs can be obtained, owners should not ride the vehicles.
