Russian Zorbing Tragedy Reminds Everyone To Be Safe on Slopes

Posted on January 10, 2013

Two men who were zorbing in Russia had their downhill trek come to a tragic end when the giant plastic ball they were in went off the designated route and flew off a ledge. One man remains in the hospital following his injuries, while the damage sustained by the other individual proved to be fatal.  A news station in Russia recently discussed the tendency among Russians to not pay attention to requisite safety precautions.  Six hospitalizations from one site this past Tuesday seem to back up their assertion.  Although we’re far removed here in California from Russian ski slopes, know what precautions to take should you ever visit American slopes.  Wear the necessary gear and check with the people running the mountain to make sure they themselves have taken steps to limit danger.
