Fire Hazard Prompts Keystone to Recall Springdale Travel Trailers

Posted on January 2, 2013

Springdale travel trailers of the 2012 and 2013 model years are being recalled by Keystone because of a potential fire hazard.  Around 191 trailers with a model number of 266RLSSRWE are affected by the recall, which was initiated upon discovery that the onboard range’s copper propane line may make contact with the vehicle’s suspension.  If this contact leads damage to be incurred, then propane can leak from the line.  Should some sort of ignition source be in the vicinity, an explosion or a fire becomes a distinct possibility.  Injury and property damage could then occur.  To prevent such an incident, owners should hear from Keystone soon.  The propane line will be rerouted by dealers for free.  This should begin at some point this month.
