Undeclared Allergen Leads Udi’s Healthy Foods to Recall Granola Item

Posted on December 20, 2012

The threat of an undeclared allergen has led to the recall of a granola product available in a handful of states, including right here in California.  The Denver, Colorado-based Udi’s Healthy Foods announced the recall, which concerns Udi’s Gluten Free Au Naturel Granola in a 12 ounce package.  These items, which were available starting on September 24, could contain almonds without the label stating such.  This is being attributed to a production error that led to almonds being intermingled with the oats found in the item.  This issue has not led to a reported illness or reaction at this time, but nevertheless, concerned individuals should bring the product back to the place of purchase to obtain a refund.
