American Mattress Company Recalls 1,500 Mattresses Over Fire Risk

Posted on December 14, 2012

1,500 mattresses are being recalled by the Atlanta, Georgia-based American Mattress Company because they could pose a fire hazard to consumers.  The recall pertains to queen, king, full, and twin mattresses that come equipped with a Bunkie board, and each was repurposed by the company after first being stripped down to their springs.  Fire standards set by the federal government are not met by these items.  No one has reportedly been injured in conjunction with the items at this point in time, but nevertheless, owners of the mattresses, which were available between December 2010 and September of last year, should get in touch with AMM.  A company representative will pick the mattress up and rebuild it in order to fix the issue.
