Skin Biology Cosmetics The Target of FDA Scrutiny

Posted on November 6, 2012

The Food and Drug Administration has accused cosmetics company Skin Biology of violating regulations in the process of marketing their products.  The organization alleges that BioHeal Cream, CP Serum, Copper Sun Tanning & Firming Body Lotion, and Squalane were promoted on the company’s website via claims that such items could be used to treat medical conditions.  This would classify such items as drugs, meaning that they are misbranded.  The FDA has requested that the company review the claims and correct any potential violations.  The company is advised to provide to the FDA evidence that they have corrected the issues and to explain in detail their thoughts should they believe the FDA’s findings to be erroneous.
