Metal Fragment Presence Leads Kellogg’s to Recall Mini-Wheats

Posted on November 1, 2012

The potential for fragments of metal mesh to be found within has led to the recall of Mini-Wheats Unfrosted Bite Size and Frosted Mini-Wheats Bite Size Original cereals.  Kellogg’s announced the recall, which pertains to versions of the cereal whose Best By date begins with the letters AP, FK, or KB and whose date itself is between April 1 and September 21 of next year.  The company states that the potential for injury is relatively low, but if a video from a Youtube user is to be believed, the metal is substantial enough that running a magnet through the cereal will collect bits of the food.  No injuries have reportedly been incurred at this time.
