Forty Five Cakes Recalled by Publix Over Possible Listeria Risk

Posted on November 16, 2012

Forty five types of cake items have been recalled by Publix Super Markets because of the potential for a Listeria monocytogenes contamination.  Maplehurst, a supplier, made the contamination threat known to the company.  At this time, there have not been any reports made in conjunction with the consumption of any of the seven inch chocolate layer cake items, which were made available to Publix starting Sunday and leading up to yesterday.  The cakes were only available in Florida.  Anyone who thinks they might own one of the cakes is being advised to return the item to the grocer to obtain a refund.
