New Hampshire Fire Marshal Urges Safety When Hanging Holiday Lights

Posted on November 26, 2012

With people pulling out their Christmas lights in order to decorate their homes in time for the holidays, the fire marshal of New Hampshire wants to emphasize safety.  Because two sets of lights were actually recalled over the summer, consumers may have missed the announcements.  Therefore, people across the country are advised to be on the lookout for “200 Mini Lights” from Family Dollar Stores and Entry Way Tree Sets under the Brookfield brand sold by True Value Hardware.  Overheating and ensuing injuries could occur in conjunction with either item.  To further protect yourself, also check any other lights for damage and ensure that extension cords are capable of supporting the lights in a safe manner.
