Fuel Filter Issue Leads John Deere to Recall Gator Utility Vehicles

Posted on November 16, 2012

Gator utility vehicles have been recalled by the Moline, Illinois-based John Deere because of a safety issue potentially presented by the fuel filter in the Kawasaki engines found on the vehicles.  On 4,340 TH, TX, and TS vehicles, this filter might be in danger of leaking, which creates a distinct fire threat if an open flame appears in the area.  No one has reportedly been injured by this defect.  Affected units went on sale about a year ago and were available across the country up until this past August.  Owners, who should hear from John Deere shortly if they’ve registered their vehicles, should cease usage.  A John Deere dealer will replace the defective filter component.
