Florida Citizen Attempts to Get Texting Ban Passed at State Level

Posted on November 12, 2012

Tomorrow, Tampa will host a Distracted Driving Summit, and one Collier County citizen who lost her daughter to a distracted driving accident plans to attend in a bid to urge legislators to pass some sort of ban on the practice.  Florida has thus far failed to enact any type of legislation on texting or cellphone usage behind the wheel, something that this person hopes to change.  She previously filmed a PSA for the United States Transportation Department geared toward distracted driving, and she also travels to local driver’s education classes and other events to warn drivers about the dangers of using a phone in an automobile.
