Undeclared Allergen Risk Leads Wegmans to Recall Baking Mixes

Posted on November 1, 2012

Three different gluten free baking items have been recalled by the Rochester, New York-based Wegmans Food Markets.  Chocolate Cake Mix, as well as All Purpose Baking Mix and Free Honey Cornbread Mix of the Food You Feel Good About brand have been recalled because of their potential to pose an allergy threat to those persons sensitive to soy.  This undeclared ingredient was found to potentially be contained within  the items during a test conducted by Wegmans.  The latter two described items were available for purchase beginning in September, while the chocolate cake mix went on sale in May.  No one has reported becoming ill, but refunds will be given to all those who bring the items back to Wegmans.
