Police Crack Down on Reckless Driving in Highland Park, Illinois

Posted on October 29, 2012

Starting today, police in the Illinois city of Highland Park plan to begin a two week crackdown on reckless driving, dangerous bicyclist behaviors, and cellphone usage behind the wheel.  In particular, cops intend to go after those drivers who disobey stop signs or make illegal U-turns in the central business district.  Once this initiative is completed, police plan to turn their eye toward violations that occur in school zones.  Operations such as this have been ongoing since this summer, when police cracked down on cellphones and sought to dissuade drivers from engaging in other dangerous behaviors.
