Ilion, New York Construction Projects Target Pedestrian Safety

Posted on October 8, 2012

The city of Ilion, New York is attempting to improve pedestrian safety along certain local roads.  Prior to construction work, which began recently, roads suffered from damaged pavement not conducive to safety, signaling technology that failed to adequately protect pedestrians, and other safety deficiencies that endangered lives.  A signal will be replaced, and a variety of pedestrian safety efforts will be enacted as part of the $900,000 initiative.
