Double Dazzler Light Show Toys Recalled Because of Overheating Risk

Posted on October 31, 2012

A children’s toy product has been recalled because of the danger that the item could pose to users.

The recall was announced by the Louisville, Colorado-based Imagine Nation Books and concerns Double Dazzler Light Show toys produced by the Guangdong, China-based Transfar.  These baton-like silver items are just over ten inches long and use a battery pack that can be found within the center handhold.  A total of 1,700 units are affected by the recall.

The batteries that are included within the toy are what prompted the recall, as this component is in danger of overheating.  If this were to occur, users could sustain a burn when they go to grip the handhold. Five overheating incidents have been reported at this time, but none of those has led to property damage or the user sustaining an injury.

These items were only available through Imagine Nation Book dealers.  Such dealers are typically found across the country in places like hospitals, offices, and schools.  The toys could be purchased between March and September.

The $9 items should not be used by a child, or an adult for that matter.  Any affected consumer who gets in touch with Imagine Nation Books will be issued a refund.

This latest recall could pose a serious safety issue, and we hope that anyone who thinks their children may have this item heeds the warnings contained herein.
