Bulk Ground Beef Recalled by Higa Due to Possible E. Coli Risk

Posted on October 23, 2012

The Honolulu-based Higa Meat & Pork Market has announced the recall of Higa Market-Ground Beef Bulk.  These products, which come in ten pound packages made available to restaurants throughout Oahu, have a case code of 291 and EST. 12457M as their establishment number.  There’s a possibility that an E. coli contamination may have compromised the safety of the item.  No one has reported becoming ill in conjunction with this beef at this time.  More than 4,000 pounds of meat are affected.
