Bethesda, Maryland has received the designation of a Bicycle Friendly Community from the League of American Bicyclists. It joined 27 other cities that were named as such thanks to their contributions to the improvement of bike infrastructure. The city has embarked upon a concerted effort to improve bike safety, with both the addition of bike lanes and the implementation of a Bikeshare program.
