IIHS Bestows Top Safety Pick Designation on Dodge Dart

Posted on October 15, 2012

The Dodge Dart was first introduced over 50 years ago, but like most cars made in the 1960s, the car was missing important safety features, such as seat belts and airbags. After going off the market in 1976, the car has finally been reissued, and it is now reportedly one of the safest cars on the market. The reissue has received the maximum possible score in all of the Top Safety Pick tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and it has thus received the designation of an IIHS Top Safety Pick. The car now features ten advanced design airbags and a solid structure made of high strength steel. It also helps to prevent accidents by featuring electronic stability control, blind spot monitoring, and traction control.
