Distracted Driving Increasingly Worrisome to Kamloops RCMP

According to a sergeant with the Kamloops Royal Canadian Mounted Police, 48% of fatal automobile accidents that occur in the Lower Mainland area are the result of distracted driving. Looking at that percentage, we can see that distracted driving in the form of texting or otherwise using a cell phone is responsible for more deaths than drunk driving. As a result, the Kamloops RCMP are going to focus more time on fining distracted drivers.  They urge vehicle operators to report distracted drivers the same way they would any other crime.
