Lane Departure Warning Systems are defined and explained in a new report. They are increasingly found in ordinary vehicles, whereas they were once an extra found only in luxury cars. The system involves a computer and a camera that work in conjunction to identify lines that define lanes and then alert the driver whenever a vehicle veers out of the lane. The alarm might be a chime or a vibration. This technology is increasingly becoming standard in automobiles.
