Decrease In Michigan Motorcycle Fatalities Renews Helmet Law Debate

The organization American Bikers Aiming Toward Education argues that there’s no need for a law mandating helmet usage astride motorcycles in Michigan.  The group points to recent statistics which show a 4.5% decrease in the number of fatalities following the law being revoked in 2011.  The Office of Highway Safety Planning disagrees, though, stating that data for this year can’t be finalized until 2013.
