40,859 Automobiles Recalled by General Motors Over Fire Threat

Posted on October 2, 2012

A wide variety of vehicles of the model years 2007 through 2009 are being recalled by General Motors.  40,859 automobiles are contained within the recall.  Those vehicles are the Saturn Ion, the Pontiac G5 and Torrent, and the Chevy Equinox and Cobalt.  The fuel pump module’s return port or plastic supply is in danger of cracking and leaking fuel, which poses a fire hazard if this happens around an open flame.  No word on when the recall is set for, but once it begins, owners can obtain free repairs from a dealer.
