Salmonella Risk Leads to Recall of Cantaloupes From DFI Marketing

Posted on September 18, 2012

DFI Marketing is recalling 28,000 cartons of cantaloupes after one sample was found to be contaminated with Salmonella. No one has reported becoming ill from eating the cantaloupe, but it should be noted that Salmonella can cause serious infections in those with weakened immune systems. Consumers who have bought DFI cantaloupes in cartons stamped “826 CALIFORNIA WESTSIDE” should throw out or return the product.
